Why did she choose to hire a hitman? If there ever is "a time to kill", would it be in her situation?
Ohhhhh the hypocrisy, JD.

You blast Christians for being against abortions while being for the death penalty. You claim to be completely pro-life, yet you try, here, to excuse her actions and question if perhaps she was right to hire a hitman to kill her husband.

She's a monster. She stopped being a victim when she made the decision to hire a hitman to KILL her husband instead of turning him in to the police and leaving him.

I am not being a hypocrite.

I am saying that people want to use the Old Testament to defend the death penalty.

But they don't want to use the Old Testament to defend this woman who was clearly abused.

I am not being hypocritical by pointing out the hypocrisy of codifying the death penalty into law.

And besides, my view is that the death penalty is just as wrong as abortion.

I am trying to elucidate the wrongness of not caring for big humans as much as we say we care for little humans.

Nope.

Again, she ceases to be a victim when she chooses to hire a hitman to kill the man with whom she exchanged marriage vows. She also lost any support or defense with that choice.

Still equating innocent unborn babies with cold-blood killers I see.

Stay classy, JD.

Re: Help Sister Prejean Save Big Humans!

JD, you picked the wrong situation to size up against abortion, for sure. There is no way you could feel sympathy for a woman who chose to try to kill her husband instead of getting away from him and compare that to the massive killing of innocent unborn children.

But the issue at the heart of what you are trying to say, I understand. You want to address the concern that human life should be every bit as important as the life of an unborn baby, and that Christian's should be against the death penalty, as well as abortion.

I disagree completely with that idea - because it is based on a faulty premise. The death penalty is in force because of a human who has committed an evil against another or multiple human beings. Abortion is committed against an innocent child who has not even had the chance to breathe, and live its life, or even commit a crime.

There is simply no comparison.

So again, I ask you... did Jesus seek to change the laws of the land while here on earth... or ... did He do something far greater... ?

Re: Help Sister Prejean Save Big Humans!

well, i don't know this woman's story, but i do know that those cases often make "turning him in to the police" a joke, "leaving him" practically impossible, and contemplating murder possibly an only out.

Yes, that is entirely possible too. However... doesn't make it right to hire someone to commit murder, and be party to it.
