Re: Watching TV?

You know, the Greek Theater was a form of TV in those days....you could pay an actor to act out whatever you wanted your carnal appetite to feed on.

Does that remind us of something these days?

Re: Watching TV?

Theater—The Home of Drama

Because the ancient Greeks used meticulous care and skill when constructing theaters such as this one at Epidaurus, spectators could easily see and hear dramas. The drama originated in fertility feasts to celebrate the harvest and the vintage as well as the ideas of the death and renewal of life. Such orgiastic feasts honored Dionysus, the mythical god of wine and fertility. These performances not only praised mythical gods but often told a story. Three main forms of storytelling developed: tragedy, comedy, and satire. The city rulers, realizing the popularity of those events, supported them as a means to gain greater political power.....

Re: Watching TV?

I hope Max Keiser never runs for office, because it would kill you if he did - as much as you love Keiser and hate all politicians.

Re: Watching TV?

hmm. I like that Max Keiser is dedicated to the truth. And i don't hate polits, by any means--i am saddened that so many people, who surely start out mostly with honorable intentions, choose to become a part of that machine, thinking they can change it. If you really want change, vote indy--which party Max would surely run under.

Re: Watching TV?

People who use internet cannot speak against those using TV.

Re: Watching TV?

well, as Max points out, one using the net gets to choose their information--at least at present--whereas tv is obviously much more scripted, with even popular shows purported to have an agenda. Being a net nut, i'm not sure how genuine that is, as everyone has an agenda; it just remains for one to judge whether it is evil or not.

No significant difference. The choice is far worse, in reality.
