I do. It would likely make the local papers, but not Yahoo or any other national headlines. The only reason this made Yahoo is because it was an unarmed, 19 year old black man who was shot and killed by a police officer. People are watching for any news of a white cop shooting, especially killing, a black person.

Here's what sadly didn't make Yahoo's news:

57 people have been shot and killed in Chicago this year already. Each victim was either black or hispanic, the majority being black. The listed suspects are mostly black, with a couple hispanics and one white man.

While the news would like to focus and keep our attention on white cops killing black men, it largely ignores the plight of blacks and hispanics killing their own.

The headlines just as easily have said, white police shoots white man, but it really should have just been reported as it was. Police shoots young man in house disturbance.

I want to know what was the "disturbance" this cop thought he heard.

Thing is, he may not have heard anything but by saying he THOUGHT he heard a disturbance he is trying to cover himself.

I bet anything the young man killed was home alone at the time his home was invaded by this cop.

Hopefully the investigation will answer that question. It's probably happened before, but I can't imagine a cop lying about hearing a disturbance to force his way into a home.... when he can't be sure who/what he'll find there.

Perhaps, but I really doubt the police was just driving down the road and said, "you know, there's a white kid in that house over there, I think I'll just go shoot him."

The photos I've seen look like a black kid to me. He definitely doesn't look like a white kid.
