I still think he's a blowhard, milking 9-11 for all that he can get out of it-- but not President Obama. He's not a blowhard.

JD, I don't think I can take anything you say with a straight face ever again. How can you dismiss two people on one hand for being a blowhard, then deny the same for the biggest blowhard we've ever had in the Presidential office, just because he's your idol...it boggles the mind.

He can't be a blowhard, by definition, because he still holds a position of very significant power.
What he says and does is very, very important still because he is still the President of the United States of America.

JD, obama being President doesn't preclude him from being a blowhard. He is a blowhard, because he brags or boasts about himself. It's well documented in his speeches. 199 times, first person singular references to himself last July, and another 99 times last November.
Being a blowhard isn't dependant on status or position. Regardless if you're a President, King, hooker or bum - anyone can be a blowhard.
You know this is true, you just refuse to admit it.

This is said against the backdrop of the President taking criticism from many on the left for not doing a good enough job of educating people his roles, good actions, etc.

It would have been classier of him to simply apologize.

“Shut up," Stewart said. "You know you’re not the mayor of 9/11, right? You don’t own 9/11. You don’t own anything but the unique willingness to crassly exploit it.”

Re: Rudy says what cowards won't (V)
I don’t think Rudy’s ever going to get the dust from Ground Zero out of his lungs,” Issa said. “He was there during the fall of those towers so for him to take personally a president whose policies have left Israel hanging, have left our Arab allies not trusting us, have let ISIS, as the governor said, go from being called a JV Team as they took on more territory, expanding from Algeria to Iraq than, in fact, the size of Texas. So the reality is that Rudy has taken our debate, and I think we should thank him for this part of it, back to national security, to the key element that the president should be focusing on. He needs to call it Islamic terrorism.” - Darrell Issa

Speaking of blowhards, Jon Stewart is one of the biggest. This is a guy who has a show on Comedy Central and thinks he's headlining CNN or some broadcast news.
I didn't see Jon Stewart walking around ground zero, helping lead in the aftermath.
Remind me, JD, where was Jon Stewart in the days after 9/11?

Re: Rudy says what cowards won't (V)
Wish Jon would tell us what he did in the days after 9/11. Did he go down to Ground Zero and help with the search and rescue? Or did he do what other celebrities like him do -- just sit back and then gripe about what people like Mayor Giuliani did or didn't do.
Jon Stewart's a pompous, arrogant jerk. Nothing he says on Comedy Central should be taken with any weight or worth.

Sometimes, like SNL's satirical skits, he gets some issues right. He is wrong on Giuliani.
I agree he lands on the side of "shouldn't be taken with any weight", but there is that 10% or 20% that keeps him interesting. He is retiring from the Daily Show, but I am wondering what he will be up to now.
He was once interviewing Richard Dawkins, atheist, challenging him on religious faith. They are discussing what happens to us after death. Dawkins says he doesn't know. He only knows our brains rot.
Jon then asks Dawkins:
"Isn't the job of a scientist, in some ways, to have faith that there is something out there that we don't understand yet? And, maybe, evolutionary dynamics, the loss of faith, wouldn't that steal something essentially human from scientific pursuit?"
