Re: House Select Committee on Benghazi
Wow so some college group is now in on the supposed cover up?
Also the death of Americans at Benghazi is a big deal. I guess growing up during the Iraqi war where 4k plus Americans dies has kind of numbed me to the whole Americans dying over seas issue.
Again, edited talking points dont equal a scandal.
Quote:
In the emails it is clear that the CIA insisted the attack be referred to as spontaneously inspired by the protests in Cairo and following a protest outside the facility. The State Department wanted references to “Al Qaeda” and “Ansar al Sharia” removed. However, State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland explained the reason for this in the emails, stating, “Why do we want [Congress] to be fingering Ansar al-Sharia, when we aren’t doing that ourselves until we have investigation results?”
Ben Rhodes, who was then-Deputy National Security Adviser for Strategic Communications, also stated in the emails, “We need to resolve this in a way that respects all of the relevant equities, particularly the investigation.”
While there certainly may have been some politics at play here, all of the evidence in the emails suggest that this was the best assessment of the intelligence available at the time and that the State Department and White House were concerned about saying too much before the facts of the investigation were available, while also expressing some concern over Republicans in Congress making political hay out of the attack. All of this is totally not indicative of a cover-up, but simply politics as usual.

Re: House Select Committee on Benghazi
Why didnt Bush do anything with the intelligence pre 9/11 that Bin Laden was going to attack in America?
Lets prosecute Cheney, Rumsfeld, and Bush as war criminals first. Then Ill care about the Benghazi non issue.

1) Intelligence failed at a lower level
2) Why not ask why Clinton admin failed to do anything. It was mostly on his watch this was planned and implemented.

Police investigate threats against Trey Gowdy
The U.S. Capitol Police are investigating threatening emails against Rep. Trey Gowdy, the South Carolina Republican recently tapped to lead a special panel probing the Benghazi terrorist attacks.
The investigation comes after POLITICO reporters and journalists at other outlets received two emails on Tuesday warning that Gowdy would be harmed because of his role in investigating the 2012 attacks.

Isn't "sister mosque" purposefully inflammatory anyway, given it is a male-dominated religion?
Shoebat?

So intelligence failed when it came to something like 9/11 and yet you wont accept the fact that intelligence could have failed for something like an attack on a embassy?
Lets start over.
What do you think happened? Why do you think he covered it up? Why do you think the extra security wasnt given?
