Christ gave one commandment, love God, and love your neighbor as your self.
It really is very simple and elementary.
It really is very simple and elementary that you are deceived or
trying to fool me and others when you tell this this story you are trying to lay on me.
John, Chapter 13, 34: A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.
So much for your Christ gave one commandment...theory.
I do not come here and spend my time posting to have you try to lay off on me some story about how you tried to make it with your own righteousness when the truth of the matter is...you turned back because it was just not what you wanted to do.
Could it be that Jesus would have us honor the 'standards' of a Church because it is honoring the Pastor's vision? Personally, I have only attended 1 Church, but I do think that God gives Churches different personalities to deal with the harvest He has intended for them.
It is more my conviction that being in one mind and one accord and being our brother's keeper, is more of the spirit that Jesus would have for us to display, so honoring what is being taught to us is important.
Like what Paul said about, (paraphrasing) though it is lawful for me..and it offend my brother, I do it not
To me...it really is about Souls and pleasing God and with that comes order

What, you think this is another additional commandment? Get real, this is just part of the commandment, to love your neighbor as yourself.
The one that is deceived is you in your attempt to make a list of commandments. This was the very thing that the religious leaders of Christ day had done. Mat 23:24 Ye blind guides, which strain at a gnat, and swallow a camel. Mat 23:25 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess. Mat 23:26 Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also. Mat 23:27 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men's bones, and of all uncleanness. Mat 23:28 Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.

This is an excellent video. I thought that I'd share it here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XrLzYw6ULYw
You know, this video could have taken a different approach. Could have had Jesus check people's files, instead of the guys with the scale. Could have looked through one and said, "Hmmm. I was thirsty, and you didn't give me drink" etc. And the subject would have asked Jesus, "When were you thirsty and I didn't give you drink?" etc. Jesus says, "step over here to my left, please."
Etc.

Please explain to me what is your own righteousness?
Making salvation about keeping every "perceived" commandment man deems sin.
Ie, hair length, what clothes you wear, and this list goes on depending on what church you attend. Making holiness that which is seen and not the inner man of the heart.
