Re: Your Definition of "True Repentance" please

Here's a verse that may encourage you... 1 John 3:20

KJV
Quote:
For if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and knows all things.
NLT
Quote:
Even if we feel guilty, God is greater than our feelings, and he knows everything.
We are human, and will feel the guilt and condemnation of the past; but know that God is greater and He knows all things. He knows more than what your heart feels. The hardest part is accepting His forgiveness when we still feel the guilt, shame, remorse, etc.

Psalm 103:12
Quote:
As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.

^^^ When I was a young teen (raised "on Sunday's we're Baptist"), a new preacher made it a mission to baptize the youth. So he baptized me, but I didn't decide to be baptized. I didn't even have any true understanding of what was even going on. So honestly, no.

I think you said something about reading Romans 6? The verse I quoted earlier is in Romans 8.

Oh, and in case you are wondering how you do if something has been forgiven?

1 John 1:8-9:

8 If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
^^^ I will read Romans 8 as well later today.

I have to get to class, but I do honestly thank both of you for your input on this matter
