LOL! I was at the nail salon and while flipping through a magazine I read Scarlett Johansson saying, "I don't understand this intense need for sharing."
I first signed up at FCF to ask questions I couldn't ask at church. Enjoyed talking politics without the language you see elsewhere. Had fun with the lighter threads, i.e. shoes, recipes, decorating, etc. Love that people can post their prayer requests. And, of course, the train wreck that ensues with many of the debates keeps you coming back.

Re: Why do you participate at AFF
Why do I participate in AFF? The answer for that is different from "why did you join AFF" - at least for me, it is.
I JOINED because unless someone has been a part of the Apostolic Church, when you talk about your experiences (past or present, but mostly past), people will just look at you as if you are crazy. If you've been a part of this, you understand what we're talking about. I wanted the fellowship of people who "got it" when I said something.
What I found here are people who are family in about every sense of the word. We share a heritage together that those outside of the Apostolic world don't get.
Why do I participate now? Because you all HAVE become family! You know how bad we are all hurting over losing our sister Cindy? Well, I am convinced that the same would be true for anyone else here as well. You folks have carried me thru some very hard times - Walt's aneurysm, for instance. You've watched my boys grow up and graduate and rejoiced with me each time. I've done the same for your kids. I couldn't leave now - how would I know how Ferd's boys are doing? And how would I get to see Renda's little granddaughters grow up, or hear about Pressing Ons little ones or so many more of you! I want to be here to see Sis Alvear's pictures and hear about the work God has called her to do. I could go on and on, but you get it. We're all so intertwined in each other's lives - I can't imagine trying to break that bond and walk away. Nope! I would miss all of you far too much! So that's why I participate.

Well said, Margie. And we were all so happy to be here to pray with you and love you while going through that time with Walt.

I came because of Cindy and stayed for the free food.

Re: Why do you participate at AFF
I haven't really participated at AFF in a very long time since stepping down from the admin/owner position to have more time for other things.
I came back after reading about Cindy's death on facebook.
I do miss the morning coffee chats some of the ladies used to have in "Gabby's" thread-- and how Ferd would run through just to pull hair.
Most of the folks who have been around AFF for a while are like family to me. Maybe I'll hang around just a little more.

PO and Margie: Well said!
I too, came because of questions I had, and I stayed because of the fellowship and friendship I found here.

Frankly, I'm tired of doing Admin's job and getting infractions for it. I'm sorry to say this, as much as I like this site, but the PTB here seem to have no problem allowing slander of another believer's monotheistic religion, despite site policy.
I'm available at my posted links, and I'll stop back by and say hi!

Can't you just like apologize or something? You know as Christians we'd be obligated to forgive you (just ask any person I've ever been crossways with about the forgiveness obligation factor ). Admins are a tinnie-weenie stressed and stretched right now I'm sure with the loss of Cindy... Please try to smooth it over... or just hang out as yourself... like now... Is that illegal or something?
