is this vastly different than the rest of America?

I dont live close to my parents but my dads mom and dad had 4 of their 5 children living within a mile of them most of their lives. (my grand parents were neither Pentecostal nor ministry).

My inlaws live next door to my MIL's parents.

I know many people, especially small town or country folk that live very close to their family. (I wish I did) who are no where near being in any form of ministry.

I live within a mile of one of my sisters and less than 5 from another. the three of us were upset when our baby sister moved 15 miles away.

LOL! I could not disagree more!

I am with Whole Hearted on this one. if there is good work and the different families can thrive, then I think it is wonderful that they are close.

If I could find the kind of work I do, and live close to my parents, I would move in a heartbeat.

I know of a church where the whole family who are now adults all live in a compound like setting... Bishop.... Pastor (SIL) &Wife (Daughter)... Sister&Husband(SIL) and SIL of Pastor's Wife all live within 300ft of each others...with Homes all facing the other..

Is this common??

Other locations SIL Slated to become Pastor... or Son taking the reins...

How common is this across the country??
Is this your way of saying, "I'm moving to Tulsa", or "I'm not in the Conservative Camp"????

I don't see where this type of behavior would be an inherently conservative trait.

It would be my guess that you might find this type of situation in any particular "camp".

I don't think it's a conservative trait necessarily. It's a trait of parents that want to administer influence and little bit of control.
