Re: Bye

I have been off the forum for a couple of days due to a virus knocking out my main computer's internet connection so I am just now seeing this. I would actually post in response to German leaving but I don't believe he will actually do it so I won't.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

Re: Bye

Personally, I come on here in spurts, post a while, getting tired of the liberal rhetoric, and then leaving. About time for me to go for a while as well.

Re: Bye

The irony of this thread is that some of you who make others not want to be here are ignorant of that fact. I have seen people who were active here years before you got here get fed up with your schtick and walk away. If I cared more, I would be offended at some of the foolishness.

Re: Bye

Stew it's disgraceful and shameful. Some folks can't have strong political opinions without being poisonous. Why can't you stand on the merits of your arguments rather than hitting below the belt and stooping to such a degrading level. It's pathetic.

Re: Bye

Forget the debate over whether everybody here is Apostolic, there are times when I wonder if we are Christian. I don't think any topic or debate gives reason to be caustic or dismissive to a brother or sister...but that's just me. I tend to just not engage people like that and life goes on.

I keep saying, and have for decades, that it is far harder to be CHRISTIAN than it is to keep a couple of dozen "standards".
