It's very frustrating that she doesn't have a clue!

My guess would be well over ten thousand.

I believe that will happen. Yes, it hurts, but it's probably for the best that we don't communicate for a period of time to allow things to cool down.

You just might be right! I was being conservative with averaging each friend with 100 friends. I'm sure its much higher!

Yeah, how this was approached may have something to do with it. It's hard to say.

Re: I've Got a Problem!
I had a relative that did that, I told her once an image is on the internet, it's there forever. And you are advertising your baby to the world naked. She said I hadn't thought of that.

Yes. I tried to be very kind in my request, but she took it as an attack on her parenting skills! Family members were talking, and I was the only one brave enough to say anything. She posts lots of inflammatory things on her Facebook page, daring anyone to say anything in objection. She was looking for a fight and I gave her one.
In the future, I will just contact Facebook and let them remove objectionable pictures anonymously. I just wish I had thought of that earlier!

You had a relative that would admit that she didn't use good judgment. My DIL will not admit ANYTHING! She believes the pictures were cute and proper. She's angry that I don't trust her judgment!

Re: I've Got a Problem!
What a yucky situation! You definitely did the right thing in standing up to her. Hopefully your son will be able to reason with her once the situation has had a chance to diffuse in a few days. Will be praying towards that end. You might also share with your son some of the info shared here about child pornography and how images on facebook, and the internet in general are used on websites that have evil uses for them. That in itself should change people's minds about posting pictures of their young children on the internet.
Maybe you could do some research to that end, and present it to your son alone, and allow him to share it with his wife in a less confrontational way.

Re: I've Got a Problem!
Mr. Steinway,
Ah.....no conflict like family conflict! I hate to hear this happened. I can understand why she thinks they are cute innocent pics (and they are to close friends and family) but I also understand your concerns over so much visibility to them.
FB is not like the old days when you had family picture albums you only showed to family or close friends. Now you really don't know who all are going to see them and in any case it is many time over who would have when pics were not in cyber space.
I read an article within the past year or so about someone visiting an Eastern European country and being shocked when they saw a picture of their neighbors family used in an advertising campaign for some kind of store. The family was very photogenic and whoever had put together the ad campaign for the store found the pic on the web and used it. I guess they thought since the family lived in America they would never know. It just shows that with the internet you never know where a pic is going to end up.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.
"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.
"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

Although it happened before the internet this isn't the first time an American family experienced something like that.
