Yes He was...scared me to death when he talked about it. as a child I went to services at those kind of churches. I never saw a snake handling but I think he was more afraid of what my mother would do to him than what the snake would do. I usually fell asleep this was in the back woods of Arkansas services. It could have happened and I just thought they were having a great alter service...lol this was all about 15 to 20 years ago.

Speaking of Joel Hemphill, I thought I say a thread on him the other day??? our ministers in our church got a letter about his New revelation i went out to lunch with the pastor and another minister sunday and they were trying to explain it to me.... I think that Joel was saying that we should no longer worship Jesus just the father???? weirrrrrrrd don't you think??

There is a large School of Prophet church in the area and I think he got it from them. He has become twoness his father would roll over in his grave but I imagine that happened years ago.

To far gone. I know preachers who did email him of course he was kind that is a family trait the Hemphills all of them are super nice folks. Joel has been gone a long time. The last time I saw him he told me he was pastoring a 'spirit-filled baptist' church evidently that did not last. Now this. And why he would send this out is a marvel he must be losing it.
