Re: Preachers/Pastors I have known/loved and why.

T2W, thank you for the post. I have loved all of these men and more, but these were the ones that I had years of contact with. There are others that, given enough years, I will one day post about. I can hardly wait to be reunited with the ones that have gone, and hope to see some of the others before they pass. Having learned my lesson from Mom Elder, I hope to meet her and hear the great things that she has seen God do.

Been Thinkin
There is when there is a moving of the Holy Ghost during services where "tongues and interpretations" happen.

So what happened on Day of Pentecost was tongues and interpretations?

No, but this is what we have and understand today when there are "tongues".

Re: Preachers/Pastors I have known/loved and why.

I have a fond rememberance of a Church of Christ pastor, Bro Benny, that used to come by my parents home when I was a child. They enjoyed talking to the young COC pastor. I remember many days that we would sit on the porch or around the table after supper just talking. It was almost like he was part of the family. He was always so kind and pleasant. I don't remember him ever trying to persuade my parents into coming to "his" church. I think he knew that my parents attended the local UPC church. He just genuinely seemed to love people and enjoyed the fellowship.
