They don't see that certain religious groups may not be exempt from providing the insurance, which would violate their moral and religious views.
The Protect Life Act makes it clear that no funds authorized or appropriated by the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA), including tax credits and cost-sharing reductions, may be used to pay for abortion or abortion coverage.

That's fine, but it's not just the Catholic organizations that are singled out. That's why I have a problem with this being used to back an alleged "War on Religion". It's not a war on religion, it's a war on conservative viewpoints, and although I may agree with it, let's call it what it is, and not use it as a cheap stunt to try and sway the religious vote.
If Perry really wants to win the public, let him focus on the million jobs he created in Texas, and tell us how he plans to do that nationwide. THAT is an argument I'll listen to!
Great discussion, PO, thanks! Unfortunately, I have to run for now, but I will be back!

What he implies in the commercial is that Obama has somehow used a broad brush, and has personally guaranteed that no kid anywhere in America can celebrate Christmas in school.
Once again, this broad brush political tactic of outright saying that "OBAMA HAS DECLARED WAR ON RELIGION" is way out of line, and I will not back down from that position.
Perry is guilty of politics here, plain and simple.

Sorry, Michael. I don't even have the time to drag up all the news reports about the path this Administration has taken against Christianity. It's not a political maneuver on Perry's part. It is reality. I guess I read more news than you do. I certainly don't get my information from the television (state run media).
I mean, come on, Michael, don't you recall the headline regarding Obama stopping the National Day of Prayer at the White House?
Are you bored today? What is going on with you?

Michael,
He points out the Catholic Church because they are the strongest vocal group against abortion.
He DOES focus on the jobs he has created in Texas. That is why he is in the 3rd slot in Iowa right now. You are just putting out television talking points.

I watched this last night before I went to bed. Thoroughly enjoyed both Gov. Perry and Gov. Bobby Jindal. Two great men!

Lol, I know you may not realize this, but you are very condescending. For this reason, I'll discontinue discussion on the topic, since I'm obviously much less educated!
May the best man win for all of us!

I probably did realize it. I get too impatient with the shallow television talking points while the country is falling apart. Sorry for offending you, Michaeldillio.
It won't be "may the best man win". It will be who the GOP Establishment wants. Too bad.

Re: Perry major endorsements online conservatives
Last post on Iowa before the holidays.
Gov. Rick Perry on the press bus.
The reporters knew there would be opportunities at other times to talk about the tough policy issues. So the topic here was simply about Christmas – which is on the minds of most candidates and their campaign staffs as they board planes for home for a brief break until returning on Dec. 26 for an all-out sprint towards the Jan. 3 Iowa Caucuses.

And BTW, I'm frustrated at this whole election process this year.
I also believe you to be an intelligent man, but politics has never been your strong suit. I once remember you stating that you thought Huckabee would get the nod.
Did I just add insult to injury? Blimey and Egads!!!!!
