It is literally "Pocket Monster" in Japanese. People may see allusions to evil spirits being subtly insinuated, but I do not think that is intentional by the designers. But the enemy can use many things. Seek God about it. Japanese culture sees many things VERY differently from Christian culture. And these slip into all sorts of things like games for kids, etc.
There is a psychological addiction to role playing games. With this game there is destroying each other's "pocket monsters" using supernatural power. Hence, the link to occult-type thinking. Read Scriptures such as Ephesians 5:8-16, 6:10-18 (the armor of God); Philippians 4:8-9; and Colossians 2:9. Compare them with the values encouraged by Pokemon and other role-playing games.
We can get fanatical about it and think it is witchcraft to simply play the thing. But there is a bit of allusion to some unhealthy philosophies in it.
If kids know it is just a game and no more and are taught about godly values, so they keep it a game... innocent enough.

I used to watch PM. I think they insinuate PM are from outer space. The card came is not a RPG. Most of the video games I saw are not RPGs.
RPGs involve large worlds one can travel through and encounter different adventures, interact with each other while playing a character, interact with the world in general and interact with NPCs and random or static encounters with monsters
The "addictive" aspect to these kinds of games is the ability to get stronger as a character. However I would not call that a true addiction. Someone that is truly addicted to any video game is probably OCD to begin with

There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
Every sinner must repent of their sins.
That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.
How can you get around that the are "POCKET MONSTERS (DEMONS)"!!!
In all seriousness though, I have played every type of RPG from the Original DnD to the Super Hero and Star Wars versions of it. It is all based off of dice rolling, like 1000's of other games.
I do understand the thought behind the "evil" description though. A lot of the stuff is designed off of the Occult "religion". The question though, is should be not participate in any worldly activity? Sports is based off of Greek Religion and Philosophy.
"Monsters" can refer to anything. Demons are real world beings. PM and other games are purely fantasy based.

It says that Pokemon uses evil/satanic signs, symbols, names, and powers. It warns that allowing kids to play with Pokemon(games/cards/books/etc…) creates a “Columbine” situation…where its influence will ultimately cause kids to imitate and try to use these pretend powers.
If that were the case we'd see that happen all the time, but we don't

I have prayed about it...and honestly don't "feel" anything...good or bad. When comparing the values of Pokemon to these scriptures it falls short. But upon further review, so did every other game. Pretty much every game is in violation of one of these principles. Even Old Maid uses deceit.
