Re: How does one backslide?

so you really diagnose your own problem ,, its the past,, you can never go forward ,looking backwards.. and it also wipes the joy out of your present ....
so here ya go ... you must let go of the past. learn from the mistakes you have made and others have made against you ,but let it go .

the current pastor hasnt hurt you ,have faith in him if he has proven thru the years to be faithful in all things hisself . there are bad pastors and good ones ..just as there are bad saints and good ones.

for someone to tell you to not go to church their a bad one .heb, 10;25- forsake not the assembleing of yoursleves together.. and i aint against house church ,just seen alot of bad come out of that thru the years,,

bonding with people ,if you want friends you must 1st be friendly . you maybe shy , ior gunshy from past . but you can never move forward ,looking back... good luck and i shall pray for your forgiveness of others and your healing of yourn spirit and trust .!god bless you in JESUS name!

Bravo my friend/ Excellent advise. This is the biggest problem that all wounded children of God have. Dwelling in the past and afraid to face the future.
Keep your eyes stayed on Jesus!

Good word, Bro. Rick. I know this guy personally, and I can say this: He's one of the good guys.

More accurately it is a deep frustration with letting oneself get taken for a ride by someone and a fear of it happening again.

How well I know, that's why I only trust Jesus and don't put my confidence into people and church organizations. I fellowship with them and love them but will never make the mistake of totally trusting them.

Jesus is our shepherd and high priest. Not any man. Men are fallible. Jesus is not. The verse you are thinking of is NOT saying we have to have a pastor instructing us til the day we die in order to be saved. It is saying no one will ever hear the gospel if no one is sent to preach it. Besides the verse in Rom 10 doesn't say we need a pastor. It says we needed someone to tell us about (introduce us to) Jesus. Not an ongoing presence in our lives.

Rom 10:14How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? 15And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

Are you hearing the gospel of peace and glad tidings of good things if you feel the way you do? If you're listening for it, starving for it, and you aren't hearing it, then are you sitting under a preacher of such as is written in the preceding verses, to begin with?

Been there, done that. Agreed with all the standards, bad things happened. Couldn't prevent the bad things from happening because it was others who were sinning, not me. Prayed God would stop them. Instead He directed me to a more loving, caring church where I'm finding healing and strength, being fed, and learning to trust God more.

You do fit in somewhere, and not in hell. If you love God, just live for Him. Joyfully and fully. And yes, that is possible, though for me it is not within the walls of a UPC church.

Why not just go somewhere else for awhile? Even if you disagree with some things, you can still go to a church, enjoy the music and worship... study on your own... there are some very good Bible studies and home groups out there, at least. Try one. Try a Sunday School class somewhere, try something. Even if for awhile it means getting up early, going to an early service somewhere else and then to your normal church for service, try it.

Plz no one take offence or feel like I'm judging ur standards im not I promise. Im NOT ALJC UPC PFW ECT I DO NOT believe in organizations... I believe only in the Word and the WHOLE Word of God. Yes sum maybe convictions but I believe it is a MUST to have a Man of God in ur life... and for me having one that I agree with their standards helps a lot. I kno so many Apostolics in my area that honestly I love but anytime I'm around them THEY NOT ME are bringing up standards and try to debate things... Ok I dont have a hellivision but that doesnt mean I'm saying ur going to hell for having one, but I have found out that ppl that are under conviction try to argue the Word.

And yes I said I kno so many Apostolics in my area and have tried to reach out to them but after awhile u get tired of reaching

Btw I wanted to tell yall thanks for the encouragement. God blesses

You certainly don't fit in hell. Sis, don't give up. Get in the word. You sound like you are serving God through fear,a lot of us have been there. I'm typing from a cell phone,so I'll be brief. Jesus didn't die on a cross just to find an excuse to send you or anyone who is seeking Him to hell. In fact He promises not to turn you away. Don't let the enemy discourage you.

What if the 'enemy' is your former pastor? What if the "anointed one" is not to be questioned? What if the "anointed one" IS your pastor? What if the "pastor" is the "Man of God" that is not to be questioned, that was put in your life to provide ALL direction? Kind of puts you in a pickle doesn't it?
