Re: Yes It Was God

Its springtime. The Joplin area is located in an area known as Tornado Alley. They call it that for a reason. The tornado was caused by the same thing that caused the tornado that passed within 2 miles of my house on April 27. A strong, fast moving cold front moving out of the southwest. It happens every year. Its nothing new. And its certainly not "God's judgement".

Re: Yes It Was God

My Pastor preached a message today "God Has His Way In The Whirlwind". I had no idea what he would say about this. He showed how that the weather is controlled by God. He said that God is sending disasters against America because of its sins and that this is just the beginning. Thank God for someone who knows the God of the Bible.

He said the same God that so loved the world he gave his only Son is the same God who sends tornados. This is true. In the end time the fear of God will be restored. This is essential that the Church would take God seriously. As it stands many of his people stand with the world against God in things that he does. Our thinking must be turned to know him as he is.

Re: Yes It Was God

When you look back into the history of the Hebrew people you see the same paradox in regard to weather and civil order. These things not sent by God but allow to happen because of the lifestyle of the people.

It is a sure truth when the words say; Love not the world or the things in the world. Earthly possessions, how dear are they to people that people should love them and the pleasures of life more than God.

The false religions that teach and preach this gospel of Christ in error and yet claim they are of God but in truth are not. People who are deceived by the false prophets who gives then false hope and false faith is who they will follow giving attention to those things. The religious world look to them as if they are good people and that all religions are acceptable because there is no perfect one, whose damnation is just..

People who call upon people because they cannot see Jesus nor hear his words on a daily basis. Diverse doctrines which bring in damnable judgement.

Those who abide under the shadow of the Almighty no harm shall come unto them. Psalms 91. That is the true promise of our Lord Jesus. People need to put forth effort to come to that place in him. It takes personal sacrifice and obedience. And the bible states obedience is better than sacrifice, obedience which is holiness in action not just in doctrine.

Draw near to the Lord for you know not what tomorrow shall bring.

Re: Yes It Was God

Well, with all due respect to you and to your pastor, but, the way I see it, tornadoes, earthquakes, hurricanes, floods, and other natural dsasters have been a part of the American landscape since before there was an America. I can't see how a naturally occuring event, just as a forest fire, can be attributed to God's wrath when there have always been forest fires. Now if fire rained down from the heavens, turning people into pillars of salt, or great fish swallowing people, then I might wonder if God's judgement was coming into play. But, a tornado? In Joplin, MO. ? Thats God's judgement against America? Thats a stretch if there ever was one. Heres the deal... if, as the author you cited contends, this tornado resulted from President Obamas statements, then why would God send judgement to Joplin? Why not, oh, I don't know.... to Washington DC? Or 1600 Penn. Ave? In the Bible, judgement was sent to Sodom for its sins.... not to some other place.

And, another way to look at it.... maybe Israel is being judged for the greatest sin of all... for rejecting their Savior.

Re: Yes It Was God

How can we say that God is just and perfect in His ways and then say He sent tornados (to tornado alley of all places) and allowed two baby boys to be violently killed?

God is just and perfect and if He was going to send judgement for what the president said, then I think 1600 Pensylvania Ave. would be the right place.
That would send a message alot more clear then Joplin Mo.

And why is the fact that there has been no movement of borders addressed?

Is God now the thought police? Does He now send judgement for something that might happen????
