Re: Obama and Israel's pre-1967 Borders
Obama should leave stuff like this alone.

So much for that.
Of course with the likes of using a CNN reporter as a foreign policy advisor, what can be expected from this enept president?

When did President Obama reaffirm Jerusalem as the capital of Israel?
During the Thursday speech?
A couple of hours after the Thursday speech?
Sometime in the past?
This is important in my mind to ascertain EXACTLY what he meant when he said what he said at the State Dept on Thursday.
I really couldn't find it on the copy of the State Dept Speech I read.
The burden of communication is on the communicator.
If Jerusalem was never "on the table" in his mind on Thursday, then he should not have allowed the opportunity for his intents to be misunderstood.

Re: Obama and Israel's pre-1967 Borders
"Obama said Friday that differences remain between the United States and Israel over the Middle East peace process, but that their relationship is "sound and will continue."
Ummm no Mr President, there are no differences between the US and Israel... only between YOU and Israel.
"Obama, in a sweeping address tackling the uprisings in the Middle East and the stalled peace process, stunned Washington and Jerusalem Thursday by endorsing Palestinians' demand for their own state based on the pre-1967 borders."
If it stunned Washington then how can he say he represents the US or the opinions or stances of Americans.?
"Obama said Thursday that the "future of Jerusalem" remains to be worked out,"
What does Obama truley believe to gain from these remarks ? How could his own staff allow him to say these things without saying: "ummm , we might not want to say that because ............... "

Jerusalem was divided into two cities: East Jerusalem under Arab control, and West Jerusalem under Israeli control. During the Six-Day War Israel reunited the two halves of the city into a unified Jerusalem and since have declared they will never allow the city to be divided again. To revert back to the 1967 borders would mean to go back to a divided city.

So it was while he was campaigning......
campaigning is like courtship
serving in office is like marriage

All one has to do is google pre 67 borders. Then look where Jerusalem is on the maps. It is inside the Israeli border.
As far as the security of Israel is concerned it doesn't matter one way or the other what America or any other nation does. God will do as it pleases with Israel. God is in control.
