Re: A Sense of Dread

As Christians, should we have "dread"? I understand concern, but if we dread are we trusting God?

A very good question. I will await the final answer.

Meanwhile, I suppose it would be total bliss to move around in life completely oblivious to everything but for a few concerns.

Trillion dollar debt? Good grief! I hope that's all there is to it.

A burden to pray is one thing. This sense that I have is another. I know the difference. Indeed, it is a call to prayer anyway. Don't think for a moment that so great an important function is neglected. Thanks for the reminder anyway.
Multi-trillions in debt!!
This may be the intention of the US's enemy's to swamp us in debt, funding military police work around the globe. Or maybe it is a judgment to call the US to repentance, I would not pass it off so lightly.

Would this have anything to do with the rising gas and food prices lately?

Unease in the world is probably the reason for these increases.

Re: A Sense of Dread

No.

come on people. in the whole history of man we have either been headed into a war/economic disaster/terrible natural catastrophy or we have just come out of one.

the whole history of man.

Serously we are grown ups here who have lived long enough to know this.

Oh and one day America will come crashing down. it will either be a sudden fall or it will be a slow slouching decline. But it WILL happen.

that is not prophecy. That is just historic fact. Nations rise and nations fall.

Sister, I dont mean to be unkind, but we have seen these prophcies since we have posted together. Eventually the Profits will be right.

not because they heard from God but because if you predict doom every day something doomish will eventually happen.

Re: A Sense of Dread

One more thing.

I am confident that trouble is on the horizon.

I am confident in this because we are currently coming out of trouble... sort of... As per the rule of human history, you are either in trouble, coming out of trouble or headed into trouble.

In other news, we are the Children of the Most High and we have the answer to what ails a sick and dying world. Trouble is our opurtunity to spread the Good News.

Dread all you like. I am just happy to be here....

We are already in that slouching decline and have been for a while......but, I tend to agree with you Ferd. We have to keep our faith and eyes on God and the rest will happen around us.
