The informant should be prosecuted. If he deliberately gave false information, he should be held accountable for it. Especially considering the fact that it led to a WAR, or at least contributed to the decision.
It's amazing how people want to pin this on the "Bush Administration", when in fact, Congress is primarily responsible for the decision to go to war.

When Bush was asked what he felt was his worse mistake in office, it was not the killing of thousands of people over a LIE, but it was that he didn't privatize Social Security. I don't know how Bush, Cheney and Rice can sleep at night. If for no other reason, I would have changed my political party at that time, if I was a republican. Now look what is happening in our country today in Wisconsin, because of the republicans agenda. Shame Shame.

First of all, many Democrats ALSO supported the war. Secondly, "Hussein's graveyard" was no LIE. He may not have had WMD's, but he most certainly DID execute many innocent people. He was an evil dictator, and needed to be taken out. Too bad it couldn't have been done a different way, but his removal wasn't a bad thing.

I guess in your mind, for this case, the ends justifies the means.
Too bad that the execution of his citizens is not what we went to war for.
No one would have EVER gone along with that.

You don't remember how the Bush Administration had to twist arms to do it?
It's not like Congress was "on board" from the start.
There were serious misgivings announced during the debate and the decision to go to war was not unanimous.

Re: I Knew It....
How many Americans are willing to admit to their French counterparts, "You guys were right?"

If you think for one minute that Iraq would be better off had we not gone in there and taken Saddam out, you're goofy. We went to war for 17 violations of UN resolutions. We demanded he allow WMD inspectors back into his country. He refused. We had no other choice but to enforce the resolutions. He was duly warned, he knew the stakes, he chose conflict. Saddam was a mad man. Whether he thought he could actually defeat us, or he thought the Arab world would rally around him, or he had a death wish I don't know, but the bottom line is there is freedom like never before in Iraq, there is more peace and stability. People no longer live with the fear that SH and his henchmen will come and abduct them in the middle of the night, rape their women, drop chemical weapons on them or beat and torture them.
A kangaroo court? The list of atrocities by SH were so well known and documented they could have shot him on the spot and justice would've been served. You Bush haters are pathetic. You should be more worried about BO blowing the whole Middle East foreign policy to smithereens.

It is a shame that government workers barely pay anything for their benefits while the taxpayers that pay for their benefits have to pay for a portion of theirs. It is a shame that unions force people to join unions against their will.

You guess wrong. I'm opposed to prosecuting a single administration, though, when nearly all of Congress made the decision. Bad decisions happen, even in government. Even when egregious or tragic, it isn't necessarily criminal. IF, in this case, a bad decision was made primarily because a person gave false information, then the person who gave that information should be prosecuted.

No, their arms weren't twisted. Information was presented to them that they found convincing. That's not arm-twisting. If members of Congress voted for the war, they presumably did so for the same reasons as members of the Bush Administration: They based their decision on the information they were provided at the time. Therefore, how are they any less culpable? If the Bush Administration is to blame, fine. Just be sure to malign every other member of Congress who agreed with the BA.
Here's one of the convincing speeches made to Congress:
Quote from HC's speech: "...any vote that might lead to war should be hard, but I cast it with conviction."
