One of my brothers is a UPCI pastor, and he and I were discussing this last night. He said he is running into several ministers in the org who believe that the FOTB will be those from other denominations who have received the Holy Ghost or are living good lives before Christ.
I told him I know of an elder right here in this city who teaches this as fact, saying, "What bride doesn't have attendants?!"
What do y'all think about the FOTB and who will they be?!

It stems from some Oneness Pentecostals' definition of the bride or the church.
Because their soteriology is somewhat narrow and includes very precise mode and method of baptism, and receiving the Spirit, it becomes a difficult question. What about the many Christians, even Spirit-filled, who do read the scriptures and follow them to their knowledge, but have a slightly different conclusion in their interpretation of Acts,2:38? Hence we have the FOTB doctrine - Which in various forms has always existed in Oneness Pentecostal ranks.

I was a skinny teenager in discussion with a big ol' Baptist boy about the plan of salvation. He carried the tradition Baptist bag of scriptures to refute the ONLY plan of salvation which I clearly laid out before him, stating that without such obedience, Hell is a certain destiny...like it or not.
Needless to say, the discussion quickly grew intense and the boiling point came quickly. While we were nose to nose in very intense discussion while the veins of the neck almost popped from volume of voice, he asked, "Are you saying my ol' praying mama who never did it YOUR way is burning in Hell?"
Well, I am a great deal wiser today than I was when nose to nose with that big ol' boy. I quickly yelled, "She is not only in hell right now, but she split hell wide open."
When I came to myself, my skinny butt was on the ground and crimson red covered the front of my shirt. I am happy to report that he temporarily changed the shape of my nose and upper lip but he did not change my mind. She IS in hell and so are all who go into eternity who obey NOT the gospel. "If our gospel be HID, it is HID to them that are LOST."
Sorry Folks. That's bible.

The Bride is the church. There is only one church. If you're in the Church you're in the Bride.

I don't accept the "friends of the Bride" doctrines and I make that plural because there seems to be a hodge podge of different ideas how this idea works.
According to Scripture you either are or are not saved.
You're either a child of God or a child of the devil.
You're either in the Church or out of it.
You're either walking in Light or walking in Darkness.

Exactly, but Jim (my brother) said he's had 3 or 4 elders tell him they believe this stuff...

I agree that the Old Testament saints are among them but also that they also include those who come to Christ after the Church is taken from this present world, as well as those who come to Christ during His 1,000-year reign on Earth.

That's because they have to find some way of making room for those who have received the Holy Ghost but not been baptized in Jesus name or for those who have been baptized in Jesus name but haven't received the Holy Ghost i.e. speaking in tongues to be saved.
In other words, they don't really believe what they say they do.

What about the Old testament Saints? Is it a given that they are not in the Bride?

I believe they'll be caught up with the rest of us. Don't you?
