But the swim wear....what is the goal here? Wouldn't we want to go to the beach or wherever and NOT draw attention to ourselves? What better to draw attention than show up in one of these outfits? And there are very modest one-piece swimsuits and would allow the swimmer to completely blend in with the crowd and not stand out at all.

I agree in part. No sense in wearing burka to the beach. However, what if blending in means being immodest? There are many beaches where even a one piece swimsuit will make you stand out. And by the way you can buy similar versions of what I described in some swimsuit shops.

You should respect personal choice a bit more. Your words could be very hurtful not just ladies with convictions to dress modest, but also to millions who have suffered with macectomies, are burn victims, are obese or otherwise wish to stay covered on the beach.

It's called tolerance and we could all use some!

The conservative, hard-line, standards-keepers I know would be appalled, not only because this has pants underneath and at least one huge slit, but because it promotes involvement in worldly activities. C'mon. The hardline conservatives are guys that argue over whether it's ok to play golf. There's no way they are going to accept women skiing, no matter what kind of skirt they come up with.

BTW, Dan, there was a group in Oregon or Washington who advertised modest activewear in the early 90s. They mailed a brochure to the church I then attended. The women thought the outfits were wonderful. They also thought the prices were outrageous.

And NOW, yes, those outfits are wonderful, at least for some women. Wearing skirts all the time can be very frustrating. It's very hard to do a lot of fun and even necessary things modestly in a skirt--even riding a bike or playing softball risks flipping your skirt too high and being immodest. These types of designs give alternative ways to enjoy those activities and still follow conscience. Besides, believe it or not, skirts can be warmer than pants, if you know how to dress and don't mind layers.

If a lady wants to ski and still give a nod to her traditional dress with femininity, I would suggest a full ski suit and a short light weight pair of culottes.
