On that issue, Im not totally against allowing the Bush Tax cuts to expire with the qualifications that
We cut spending across the board rather than allow one or a few areas to bear the brunt
We don't just "increase" tax on the wealthy but do it across the board and only do it by a fraction of what it would be if allowed to expire and only for a couple years.
That being said, wasn't it Bush Sr that said "no new taxes"? The caveat was that they didn't need to make any NEW taxes, just increase current ones.
Id rather see an increase in income taxes than taxes on other things like fuel. If you tax fuel more not only will it be passed on to us at the pump but entire industries like shipping that rely on gas will pass the cost onto the grocery or other industries that receive goods and they will pass it onto us at the check out.
Either way Im pretty sure even the Republicans are going to both cut services and raise taxes to reduce the massive debt increase Obamacrats gave us and if they can't reverse Obamacare there will have to be some sort of tax increase for that
