Re: Jus' sayin'

Sorry if this post brings back back memories! lol
Actually I wanted to see what kinds of reactions folks would have to it for a couple of reasons. Been an activist in the 70s and understood the irony of Appleton's line, "throwing beer cans at the law and shouting, "Peace! Peace!". The hypocrisy of the peace activists of that era was staggering.
Other reason was that it's a breezy song, and the good ol' boy establishment at the time really didn't know how Lance (and his musical genre of folk/rock) was supposed to "fit" in the system. He had an original style that was appealing to me (I liked his harmonica playing) and was definitely non-conforming.
I have wondered what became of him.

1Co 11:1 Be imitators of me, even as I also am of Christ.
1Co 11:2 But I praise you, brothers, that you remember me in all things, and you keep the doctrines as I delivered them to you.

  1. There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
  2. The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
  3. Every sinner must repent of their sins.
  4. That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
  5. That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
