I like being shocking! It's a rather attractive feature of being me!!

Seriously, when ANYONE figures out all the symbolism and all the scholars reach a conclusive resolution to it all, let me know. I'll take it seriously. In the meantime, I'll shock you by being about my Father's business, increasing the population of heaven by bringing people to a redemptive relationship with Jesus Christ, and I'll leave the pointless debates to you eschatology-heads. Enjoy wasting your time on nothing.

Re: Pre-tribbers don't know their Bible

Just a note of humor:
Last Saturday I attended a baby shower for the new granddaughter
we are expecting soon. A lady in our church made a cute little cover
(much like a Bible cover) for a quick diaper change.
As you open the cover, on one side is a pocket for a diaper/huggie,
etc., to fit inside. The other side had a place for the little plastic
wipes container to fit inside. In the space between the two
pockets were these words embroidered.
"We shall not all sleep, but we shall be changed".
So cute.

On the other hand, one must at least wonder why all that stuff is in there!

So, so true. On the bright side, many churches are now realizing that the most effective way to become a missionary is to move to where ever and work there. They know you must live among them, as they live. They mostly just need money for plane trips and visas.

The goal is to bring people to God, train a few natives to lead the church plant and get out of there within a couple of years and move on to the next unreached people. They keep close contact with the native leaders and sometimes send THEM support so that they have more time to spend raising up missionaries from their own church to go out.

It is so exciting to see new church plants working hard to send their own missionaries out into, sometimes, hostile villages that are considered their enemies.

Monks used to get paid by piece work. The longer the text, the more gruel they received. This tended to make things drag out after a while.
