There are plenty of Federal employees who are dedicated to their job and careers, many times working countless hours of unpaid overtime because the budget for their office isn't large enough for them to hire the proper number of people to accomplish the mission of their agency in the first place.
Look at Border Patrol Agency.
Look at the Department of Justice.
You have the folks who are employed by the Veterans Administration whose purpose is to help veterans with their hospital bills.
They are Federal employees too.
Every doctor, nurse and technical professional employed by the Veterans Administration are federal employees!
So your statement is false on many, many levels, for THOUSANDS of people.
Basically, you've drunk the kool-aid of the folks who seek to play on your dissatisfaction. They seek to misguide your criticisms in a way that ultimately makes your criticisms invalid and makes you seem hopelessly partisan.
Simply put...more government jobs equal more taxes.
That is why we don't need nor want more government jobs. PLUS MOST not all government run agencies do a worst job than private companies do.

Also, in defense of Beck, if anyone continued to watch his program to find out what did take place after he did this, he also repented for doing so too, relaizing he was wrong to bring this child into play concenring this. Doing so after his wife revealed to him he was wrong to do so. Beck finally receiving the chastisement telling about repenting for it on his program publicly.
So how can you beat someone admitting their error?????

Federal employees are well compensated - way above the average of the private sector, and they receive huge bonuses and line up for a shot at "overtime" because the Federal Unions have guaranteed them huge compensation for it.

The VA exists so that Veterans DON'T HAVE hospital bills. That's why Vets line up at the VA. The people there work hard, but your "help pay their hospital bills..." statement is just weird.
My little sister is a DAV - she lost her anterior cruciate in Bosnia back under BC's watch. I know all about the "VA experience" - and none of it involves a hospital bill (thankfully!).

* working at the Dept of Justice from 2006 - 2008;
* patrolling the American / Mexican Border in Arizona in 2006; and
* I AM currently employed by the VA, working in a section called Fee Basis. In Orlando, though there are literally THOUSANDS of veterans, there IS NOT a VA hospital here. So we often send our veterans to the private hospitals in the area for their surgeries, treatments and etc.
As far as the UNCOMPENSATED OVERTIME, there are many, many Federal employees who are not compensated for their overtime. It is agreed upon BEFORE the employee accepts the position.
I speak of what I know, what I have witnessed and what I have experienced first hand.

It seems to me that the whole "government payroll" stuff is always thrown in when discussing the Dems. However, while the GOP dominated the House and Senate from 2000 - 2006, you could hardly get ANYONE to investigate how much money was being spent inefficiently by the government for the war effort.
