Not so much WHAT as HOW it was said. Maybe I was reading into it. But be honest he and I have crossed paths before so he and his writings are nothing new to me.

....and if you said they were not saved then you'd need to take the God hat off and hand it back to the REAL God. You are very wise with your above post.

Then why do it? Non-Heaven and Hell issues (the whole "is it heaven or hell" is an invention of Pentecost) are in reality are items that are not needed. Therefore baptism wouldn't be required at any level. Not heaven and hell is the same as saying you don't need to do it, plain and simple. Jesus told John that He needed to be baptized to fulfill all righteousness. Peter commanded the house of Cornelius to be baptized and even made sure he checked it with the Jews he brought with him. Jesus name baptism is important, you might not agree, but that wouldn't change what is explained in the scripture concerning baptisms importance.

Water baptism is part and parcel to the New Testament Biblical teaching. Bypassing it would also mean bypassing the plan set out in the scriptures.
From Roman Catholics to Church of Christ even they see the importance of water baptism by submersion. Whittling down the Bible to suit some philosophy handed over from mainstream Churchanity, doesn't help anyone. It might help you fit in with mainstream American Churchanity and make your beer go down down smoother in one of their Pizza Bible studies, but it won't get anyone saved and started on their walk into the Kingdom.

Did any of you miss the, he that believes [trusts] and is baptized shall be saved verse in your Bibles?

Mark 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be SAVED; but he that believeth not shall be DAMNED.

Sounds heaven and hell to me.

In other words Berkley, JTULLOCK was offended by me sometime in the distant path and hasn't gotten over it. Therefore it sounds like he is saying, anytime he finds the oppurtunity to lash out against me he takes it?

Whatever.

Re: United Pentecostal or Divided Pentecostal

There is no doubt that the Oneness Apostolic church is divided!

The United Pentecostal Church is united, only because they shoot dissenters. The word "united" assumes bridge building, but all I see is wall building.

I think many will be surprised to see who is and who isn't in Heaven.

Wink Re: United Pentecostal or Divided Pentecostal

Good Morning Evang. Benincasa,

I never said baptism was not important. I never said just because you are a good person, that you are going to be saved.

You are putting words in my mouth, that I never said. I know what I believe.

I baptize in the name of Jesus. But am I going to condemm anyone who doesn't!!

I have been in services with ministers like Rev. Tommy Bates who could preach the
walls down. Laying hands on folks in Jesus Name, people getting saved, getting healed,
and the list goes on.

All of this in a oneness church!!!! So if you want to say that God gives them all of
this and then sends them to hell....................Well that is between you and God.

It just irks me when Triniterian ministers visit oneness churches and folks are bouncing
off the walls, and getting delievered while he is ministering.

Then 2 days later say.......................I wish they had the truth. You got to be kidding!!!

The Catholics stand for something. They believe baptism is essential to salvation. At least they are right in this regard. Of course they also believe in baptizing babies and that pouring a little water over the head is good enough. But hey, at least they stand for something instead of being wishy washy and ignoring multiple scriptures regarding the necessity of baptism.

How do you get around "he that believeth AND is baptized shall be saved?" A pentecostal preacher didn't say that, Jesus did. Thats just one scripture out of several.

Oh but hey, maybe the priest in the Old Testament could bypass washing in the laver too. I mean really, whats the big deal? It was just one step out of several. Surely God would still allow him into the Holy of Holies without striking him dead. Its just one little step - surely God wouldn't care if that step was omitted.

I was raised Catholic. And it amazes me, saddens me and sometimes angers me when people throw truth right out the window as if its nothing more than a banana peel.
