Really? I don't see how. In fact when the Gulf War was on we pleaded with them NOT to retaliate against Iraqi Scuds...for fear it would drag other Arab nations into the fray...clearly not something we thought we could handle

The more allies in the Middle East or anywhere else in the world, the better for us. That makes sense to me.

THIS PRESIDENT SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF HIMSELF FOR MAKING AND CONTINUING TO MAKE such a big deal of this and excerbating the rioting in the streets. He is kissing up to the arabs like they were his brothers which they are. Everyday is a new low for him.

I think we have more of a connection with Israel because our laws and morals are based on Judeo-Christian laws and tradition.
That is why you have large lobbyist groups like American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) and Christians United for Israel. 50 or more groups come together at the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations. Their goal is to strenghten US relations with Israel and simply as a force united for the well being of Israel.
Some of the supporters of Israel are non-Jewish Christians, but make no mistake, a large portion of money going to Israel is coming from the Jewish sector. Strong ties in America. That one small powerful Ally has friends - lots of friends.
The "alliance" has been awefully one sided. However, the fact that they are simply there, pushy and arrogant beyond belief means they are an unscratchable itch on the back of the arab world.
As long as they sit there making noise they are a check to Syria and Jordan and even Iran to an extent. That is not a bad deal for us. And if they do something really stupid like nuke Tehran? hey, we gots deniability.
While I admit to having a soft spot for the Palestinians, they bring alot of their grief down on themselves.
