Great pic Wii.

Re: Planning an Alaskan Cruise for 40 Years!!!

Our Alaskan cruise was amazing! When you pull up to that huge blue glacier wall, it takes your breath away. We were on a Christian cruise and when we came up to the glacier, John Stearns sang Amazing Grace over the intercom and then they prayed. It was awesome!

We stopped in Ketchican (sp), Skagway (which was fun), and Juneau, I think. We went in July and we were able to walk around in short sleeves on the shore excursions. But it got really cold on the deck of the ship, so take a good jacket.

The only bad thing for us was that ours was a ten day cruise, and we only stopped three times. We got a bit of "cabin fever" - our cabin was really small. I think I read about everything the ship's library had to read.

Re: Planning an Alaskan Cruise for 40 Years!!!

We were on the same ship in August 2007. We wanted to take my mom on something nice before her dementia precluded her from going anywhere. It was a wonderful trip and you are in for the time of your life! The Sawyer Glacier was the high point for us! Nothing can compare to them taking an enormous ship down a narrow fjord to the glacier and spinning it around in place with side thrusters!

I also zip lined and went mountain biking in Juneau, gained at least 10 lbs as well. It is a wonderful getaway, be sure and have a good camera that you are comfortable using, much to see and shoot!

I don't know if we cruise Glacier Bay, I will check. But I know we visit the Mendenhal Glacier.

We cruised to the Bahamas in the mid eighties, and we really enjoyed it, we have had Alaska in our thoughts for some time, just had to do some kid raising first!! LOL

And recently Crakjak and his sweet wife found out they are going to be
grandparents for the first time. What exciting times for the Crakjak family!

Their married children and their spouses and their youngest son surprised their
Dad with a surprise "60th" birthday party a few weeks ago. Of course his
sweet wife was in on it too!
And guess who was the invited guest for Crakjak's party! His NINE siblings
and their spouses.
They grilled char-burgers with all the trimmings, Fresh fruit salad,
cake and homemade icecream. Very tasty indeed!
Then we siblings, starting with the eldest, each told a fun memory about
Crakjak, when we were younger.

Still making good memories!

His eldest sister,
