It just depends on what one reads into it. I can accept it as long there is no real expectation of realizing all of these entirely in this present world. Certainly this is true concerning physical healing of our bodies... (Duh!) but also in similar fashion in becoming sin-free spiritually. We are plagued by a less than perfect life daily - even after conversion.

I think it's simply a matter of timing. The cross did overcome all the penalty of sin. In the next life we will realize and enjoy those benefits in their entirety. Even today we do to some extent but we are not in heaven.
IF ALL sickness, illness, hurt and pain were magically dispensed from our lives by calling the name of Jesus, then this earth for all practical purposes would be heaven.
I for one am looking for that eternal abode where pain sickness and suffering is obliterated.

The doc had checked three times - assuming we hoped for a boy, but assured us we have another girl on the way.
I shared this at church and an elderly lady said, "well ya know sometimes they just can't see that little thingy"
I said, "Well it wasn't all that small, sister!"

OK, so everyone agrees that healing doesn't always happen. Nobody seems especially concerned that the same might happen with salvation (sometimes happen, sometimes not, nobody knows why, nobody can predict when it will work or not), whether it was provided in the atonement or not.

I can buy that, I just don't think healing in Isaiah is about physical healing. Can God heal? Yes. Does he? I think so. But I don't feel that it has anything to do with the atonement. God healed in the OT too.
