I am disgusted!
I am not fearful, but concerned-- not because of the mark of the beast and end of world scenarios as I believe America will not partake in the "mark".
I am concerned for the more immediate.
If the dollar was losing its "ummmph" in our world, Geithner sped up the process of something that was not necessarilly inevitable.
Barring a very strong public rebuke from our President and a very strong public statement with actions to prove otherwise, the doubt, distrust and instability Geithner just started will not be reversed.
This development has got to be the WORST THING THAT HAS COME ABOUT SINCE THIS ADMINISTRATION HAS BEEN IN OFFICE!
GEITHNER'S STATEMENT WAS BEYOND BAD-- IT WAS UTTERLY BAFFLING, IRRESPONSIBLE!!! MAYBE HE SHOULD BE FIRED FOR BEING STUPID!!!
Maybe Geithner hates America.
I really hope our President does SOMETHING to try to fix what Geithner did.
IT'S OBVIOUS HE WAS NOT SPEAKING THE MIND OF PRESIDENT OBAMA!!!
Most Conservatives won't agree with me-- and I really couldn't blame them.
Right now, I am purposely wearing rose-colored glasses, but my new diet prohibits kool-aid of all flavors.
I really hope President Obama fixes this.

In the defense of what you said though, the same source did say that Geithner and Obama were at odds. So.... we'll give you a little one!
This was a gaffu that Geithner did, the funny thing is how the US media did not pick up on this.

Do you think that geithner was ignorant as to the effects his statement would have?
Do you think that he just didn't think?
Do you think that it was done on purpose?
Some people on here have made statements akin to "President Obama hates America."
Of course it is not true! I don't subscribe to that thinking at all.
However, what geithner did is definitely support for the case that geithner hates America.
geithner should be fired!
Even if it was a gaffe, a slip of the tongue, the irresponsibility reflected should not be tolerated!
As loyal as GWB tried to be, I think even he would have to let this numbskull go.

Mr Geithner's friendly comments about the SDR plan seem intended to soothe Chinese feelings after a spat in January over alleged currency manipulation by Beijing, but he will now have to explain his own categorical assurance to Congress on Tuesday that he would not countenance any moves towards a world currency.
Wonder how he will sooth those waters?
