I got the title because in another thread I said I wil never trust another preacher again and I thought they were all lying about one thing or another.

It was a great bike to get back into riding on at my age. Since the Vulcan 500 engine is the same basic engine as the early Ninja's it had 6 gears instead of the typical five on a cruiser. That meant with a little shifting it could keep up with or outrun many bigger bikes. It would also go over 100 mph though I don't think I ever got it above about 96 mph because common sense and fear took over!
Insurance is typically less on the small cc bikes also.
If you take the MSF (Motorcycle Safety Foundation) course will they give you an insurance discount in CA? In TN it is 10 or 15% off.
I think my full coverage insurance went from about thirty bucks a month on the 500 to about fifty bucks on my Honda VTX1300R.

CC,
We bought our bike (Honda 750 Shadow) in 2005. It is a 2003 model and only had 2100 miles on it. It was, and still is in excellent condition. We gave only $3900 for it. Our insurance runs us less than $20 a month.

We love ours. And with the year and color that it is, alot of people actually mistake it for a Harley until they come over and look at it. It's black cherry and very sharp!

A lot of bikes have that Harley look nowadays. A friend of mine bought a Suzuki and it looked and even sounded like a Harley.

Exactly. That's why I wouldn't pay Harley money just for the name! My hubby and I were with my sister and bro-in-law in Knoxville last summer and we were checking out bike shops. She was looking at a Suzuki and it was very nice.
