Nationalize the oil industry?? Are you nuts?? You're going to have to explain your take on this one to me.

Surely Hugo Chavez you jest. I will take it that you are joking. If not then you are really in trouble.

Socializing private enterprises is the surest way down the road to ruin that you can find.

Never works. Never has and never will!

oil is a natural resource and should be owned by the public. if we nationalize the oil industry, profits from the sale of oil can be used to pay down the debt. simple.

Simplistic...is more like it.

I don't feel comfortable nationalizing very much. They are already trying to nationalize health care....which in my opinion is not likely to be a good idea. I am not saying it COULDN'T be a good idea....but, seeing the way the government has handled other issues, I don't think it will be a good idea.

We need to get away from oil altogether. We need to start developing other types of engery...wind power, solar etc. If they hadn't basically sent the electric car packing and had then crushed against the will of the public, we would be much farther down the right path now, IMO. Our dependece upon oil has caused our dependence on foreign oil which we import way too much of. Oil is one of our biggest problems.

I understand Hugo, looking at your picture/icon explains a lot.

You have bought into the communist ideal, hook, line and sinker.

Happy hunting in your barren wasteland.

well it's either nationalizing the oil industry or raising taxes on the rich. either way is the only way to pay down our deficit. btw I'm a big fan of hugo though he is a little extreme.

Every heard about cutting costs? I know, I know, it is very capitalistic, but believe it or not, it works!

btw, I believe that you area big fan of Hugo, it shows in your posts.

I hope that you do not want that type of working in your life, it is very oppresive in Venzuela. Maybe if you went there it would change your mind. Seeing things how they really are is really a eye opener.

Lots of people liked Fidel also, until it was their property being confiscated. You really need to get a hold on what Hugo is like. He is a monster.
