My own husband also teaches this and I thought it was great to see it in practice. Most Apostolic churches we attend or minister at have all kind of preliminaries and things. This church had them after. It was great to see this in action. There was no pulpit. Those that taught or preached brought a lectern up when they began. After church when we spoke to the pastors they told us they felt no one person was the most important in the church and that all eyes should be focused on Jesus. I like this It made a big difference in the response of the people.
Does anyone else attend this kind of assembly or been to this kind of service?
This sounds like Life Tabernacle in Houston, since they built their new church.

For me personally, I prefer the pulpit being there. The rest is okay.

No chairs and everyone sits in the congregation during worship. Some of the people that share bring up a stand when they have notes to help them to remember to share different points or statistics etc.

It all sounds "emmergent!" to me. Next, there'll be untucked shirts. Just watch.

Oh yes! Some of the people that share do not always tuck in their shirts. Why would that be important? Do you feel like worldly business suites and fancy dresses are more acceptable to God? If so, then you should wear them every time you leave home, because you should be ministering everywhere you go.

We believe that all of us are missionaries and our ministry starts with our neighbors. Our church purposed to put our church building in the middle of a "bad" neighborhood. All the ministers that get paid are required to live in the neighborhood and the rest of us are encouraged to pray and see if we should move there too.

All the church staff gets the same paycheck. The janitor gets the same pay as the senior pastor. Then they all get the same amount extra for each added family member.

Our church does not believe in having debt, because we can do so much more to support ministries if we are not paying interest on debt.

So, what I am saying here, is everyone dresses according to the culture they are in. Both the rich and the poor visiting for the first time would be comfortable in our church. Well, if they came to impress us with their dress and expected us to do the same, they would be disappointed.

Well... sort of - yes. Some of us come forth as butterflies, and others as oily moths of darkness.

True. There are some likenesses - both butterflies and moths have wings...

I have not been to Life Tabernacle in years though when I lived in Houston I was
a member. That is interesting to me.
