If we can get to the asteroid belt and get resource rich asteroids into either lunar or earth orbit it will be a near limitless supply of metal and minerals for future generations.
Some space policy experts say that makes the moon attractive for exploration again. Having an abundance of water would make it easier to set up a base camp for astronauts, supplying drinking water and a key ingredient for rocket fuel.

Well, if you were up there and thirsty, you would care.
They are claiming to have found lotsa water on the moon, can you believe that?

Schroeder is a great mind. I admit that. I loved his part in "Expelled". I cannot agree with his assertion of an old earth though. I think too much is contrary to that idea.
We obviously don't know everything. Even the YEC theories I believe to be true have problems, but no more than the OEC and Evolution theories do. I think men like Hovind, Moehlenpah, Ham, Morris and such make better arguments from scripture and science than the opposition though.
You should read Schroeder explaination of the six day creation, seems to make great sense to me.
He believes the 'big bang' was the creation, and that it was in hyper speed! Earth time, he showed evidence scripturally and scientifically to begin when man was created. We should not be ignorant, God created the universe, and science is uncovering some of his tracks. He uses very early commentators of the Hebrew scriptures, and he uncovers some very interesting meaning in those early Hebrew scriptures.
Doesn't mean we have to accept everything, but this can add to our understanding.
His book, "The Hidden Face of God" was breathtaking to me personally, I guess I was sleeping thru biology classes. Also, newer microscopes have unveiled things that were not known when I was in class, so it just wasn't known.

There just happens to be a documentary out there right now of a UPC pastor who says his church will be the first to colonize another planet. Maybe he meant the moon.....you never know!
Most people didn't care about electricity back in the beginning either, but we definitely appreciate it now! You just never know where discoveries might lead.
I hear echoes of Richard Hoagland. That is a freaky video.
