For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.
But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!
No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?
Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?
Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?
And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:
And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?
Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
(For after all these things do the Gentiles seek for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
Matthew 6:19-34

I noticed you left off Joseph storing for 7 years of plenty for the 7 years of famine.

I don't think so.

Why do you say it is mixing apples and oranges?

1. Because God caused Pharoh to have a dream.
2. God caused Joesph to be in the place to interpret the dream
3. The famine was Gods devine will to place Isreal in a position to become the nation He intended.

I cannot say that God has or has not decided that America needs a famine. Maybe He has.

I do know that there is no dreaming Pharoh and there is no profetically positioned Joseph.

just because some fellow who claims God is talking to him has said there is going to be famine in the land doesnt make it so.

I agree with you. But I suppose time will tell.

And ALSO remember when God gives someone something they are to pray about it and prayer CAN change the situation.

So we can't always say they missed it, if you believe in prayer.

Esther, time told most reciently this past march.

and that is a cop out to get a false prophet of the hook.

you dont get to say "x is coming by X date" and then when that date comes and goes, say "well we talked God out of it" especially when it is as momentous as a nation wide famine.

Well, I'm not saying you are right or wrong, I just know of a man that God showed something to and he only shared it with a few people, but also he said God told him to pray against it.

It didn't happen.

So although I agree with you that there are indeed false prophets out there, I don't believe that is every case. Otherwise, why bother to pray, or perhaps don't say anything.

Then when it happens and they said God showed me that, you say then why didn't you tell anyone?

How do they win???
