But, I still had real good breakfast at the bluebonnet cafe in marble falls.

Did you save THAT much money by flying into SA?

Unlike Coonskinner I am not a morning person so I started the day of rough having to get up at 5:30 am this morning to get ready to get to the airport for my 7:55 am flight.
Like a big fat giant kid I never sleep much the night before a trip which was especially bad since I didn't go to bed till about 12:30 am.
Oh, I have to backtrack a little for the first symptomn of altzheimers I exhibited this week. Last week I got an email from a guy in Ireland who was going to be in Austin, Texas this week Monday - Wednesday and needed to have a business meeting with me during that time.
Being the competent business man I am I mentally checked my calendar for this week and knew that I had a regional sales meeting all day Monday. I replied that I could be in Austin Tuesday or Wednesday and the man responded by setting up a Tuesday meeting. I made my airline, car, and hotel reservations.
Then Monday I dropped by the office and about 11 am went up to my bosses administrative assistant and said "we are supposed to be at the Doubletree Hotel at 12:30 pm right?" To which she nodded yes and said "yup, TOMORROW!". I was stunned. I had gottne the date of the meeting mixed up . Turns out I was free Monday but was supposed to be at this meeting Tuesday.
I had to sheepishly go in and tell my boss what I had done. He laughed and was great about it but I feel bad for missing a meeting I should have been at.
Back to today now. I land in Austin and get my rental car this morning. My meeting is in the afternoon so I stop by the nursing home first to see my mom. She looks good and is sleeping so well I don't wake her. I decide to go check in my hotel and eat lunch then come back and see her.
When I made my hotel reservation some of my usual haunts were full and I thought I ended up with a reservation at the Holiday Inn in Round Rock. I battle bumper to bumper traffic all the way out to Round Rock only to discover they didn't have a reservation for me. I looked at my corporate travel itiniery and sure enough my reservation was at the Holiday Inn at Plufgerville which was where I reall wanted to stay. So back in the car and five or ten miles back down the freeway to the correct hotel (which I had passed going to the wrong one).
Now is the part of the story that gets really scary. Got out of the meeting about 5pm. Decided to go to the hotel and do some quick work on the computer then go see my mom in the nursing home.
Unbelievably at 5 pm I battled bumper to bumper rush hour traffic back out to the WRONG hotel in Round Rock AGAIN. When I pulled up to turn in the hotel in dawned on me that I had gone to the wrong hotel. I had bumper tp bumper, sometimes completely stopped, traffic all the way back to the right hotel. I went around 10 miles and one hour out of my way for the second time in one day. Arghhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good Lord, CC1 - Round Rock is awful. One of my sisters lives there right off of Chandler Road. We were there in December and it is just awful. I would never want to live there!!! Did I say "there" three times? Hahhahahaha!

We almost bought a house in RR last July. That's probably where we're most likely to move when we do finally buy a house since I work there.
It's not that bad... it was bad by Chandler road due to all the road construction going on. It's going on to make it better there. They're reworking the interchange with 35 to make the traffic flow better due to the outlet mall and Ikea moving in there.

And $30 on gas to Marble Falls from SA...
My sister is flying in in August. She thought she was going to save a boatload of cash by flying into Houston or Dallas... til I told her how far away they were, how hard it is just to get out of those cities before you even get on the road, and how I don't know the cities enough to get her out of them if she got lost (which she would)... didn't seem like such a bargain after that. lol

She lives in the neighborhood behind Ikea. The guys ran over there while us girls ran to the outlet mall. We slipped in the back way by the hospital. Nice! It is a nice outlet mall. I'll be looking forward to that in the future as we are all hyper and don't like sitting around the house. lol! I'm sure my sister will as well. I slipped into Crabtree and Evelyn to buy her the favorite lotions she likes.
