We will not worry about the fact that the tile is not protruding a few inches as recommended, (there are bigger issues) but I gave a bid to install a large cover over the entire chimney - either copper or stainless, with an animal guard.
got ya, that would look sharp with a cover on it. prety much a necessity too if they are smart. ps i used to be an ironworker [before i started my contracting business] so i know heights, it was fun most of the time.

Re: From My Perspective

We installed some European Copper chimney pots today... thought I would share.

Installation is easy enough... removing 1500 lbs of water damaged masonry
"pots" (site built) not so easy - especially dealing with the two story tile
roofs!

We have a return trip planned to install copper flashing skirts around the
visible portions of the aluminum chase cover.

Looks like you could run into some dangerous situations on the job, Stephen!

No doubt. There were three of us working today and we did/do use precautions.

Pressing on is a Prophetess! I am now recovering from A fracture...

I was able to hide the back brace under my shirt and tux yesterday at our local festival. We had a smoking copper chimney on top of the van for the parade and the girls danced to Chim-Chimney.
