And If you think I look silly, that's fine with me Aby. This is such a critical forum. Sister Ruth Harvy's name has been trashed as has Bro. Stoneking and I find that very damaging to each of their characters and ministry. It really bothers me very much when I see this.

I'm out of the loop on this issue, however with RH and LS, it's not so much their persons as their message that has been "trashed." I doubt anyone would argue that both RH and LS are good people ... it's just their message on Magic Hair is terribly wrong.

Glenda,
This forum discussing issues - I don't believe anyone has trashed Bro. Stoneking or Sis. Harvey, but they have questioned some of what they are preaching/teaching. There is a difference.
We allow freedom of discussion on issues so you aren't always going to like what you read, but that doesn't keep it from being relevant. Computers have changed the landscape - - things aren't hidden as much as they use to be.

Sister Gatlin now Terrell is one of the finest people I have known. Steel isn't as tough as her.

It appears that you have a habit of trying to defend wrong positions Elder E, kind of like trying to defend dispensationalism!!!

Oh, I don't think my remark about silliness was anymore critical than your post--was it?
My point was simply to do research and know what you're talking about before you jump in the fray. Otherwise, you may stick your foot in your mouth...or hand in the keyboard--however that translates to the written word.
I don't think that Ruth Harvey's name has been trashed, as much as the organization has been criticized for seeming to endorse her teachings. In fact, I recognize her simple right to interpret scripture to the best of her ability, and live what she thinks is right. However, when she teaches her interpretations to the entire congregation (or potentially the entire organization), then it is no longer personal, but of interest to a wide number of people. The interest is still not really in Ruth Harvey, but in the pastors, leaders and organizations who will allow a false teaching to continue unchecked or unquestioned.
One thing I like about this forum is that everyone expects people to back up what they say. Whether it's scripture to back up a belief or a document to back up the claim of a degree. While annoying to some, it actually produces a purer conversation, IMO, because people (usually) won't talk unless they can really back themselves up--or at least think they can.
No one gets away with saying, "It's that way just because I say so."

That says a lot of your opinion of everyone else.

- That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
- That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
