What a sap! So stupid! All of those "elders" who assured me that they knew more than I did and that they cared more about the kingdom then I ever could... they're sunning themselves in Florida right now on the money that I helped to line their pockets with.

Meanwhile I'm trying to explain to my wife and kids that maybe we shouldn't be giving $1,000 a month to a church and not putting a dime into any savings. But I just don't "trust God..." Wrong. God is trusting us - but we're just plain stupid.

Both the Ohio situation and the east coast situation were a father turning a church over to a son. This is totally WRONG! The sons never did squat to build those churches. They were handed to them on silver platters.

Father's think they are laying up treasure for their children on this earth in the form of handing over financially set churches. This is very grievous

Some pastors use this verse to show why they don't let a board of Elders be in charge of the pastor's income amount. (but instead they get 1/10th of the church's personal income).

Jn.10:12 KJV

But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep.

Jesus is speaking of Himself, per the preceding verse, yet some pastors believe it applies to them as shepherding without being a hireling, .... not being on a set pay figure).
