The younger set (girls 5-11) in our local church and the surrounding churches had the matching birthstone necklace and bracelet sets. This is engraved in my mind because I wanted a set like that and my mother wouldn't buy it for me. (it was probably something boring like lack of money)

At some point everyone has to decide who needs to influence their lives and who they need to turn a deaf ear to. I would ignore this line of thinking myself.
