This is not a recession. This is a depression.

Mr. Piano is right. This is gonna get hairy.
and I really think (as I have previously stated) this will be over by the end of this year.

it wont be as bad as the late 70's but worse than anything from then to now.

the caviat is how much messing around the dems do that might drag it out longer or even make it worse. (the jury is still out on what the BHO and the Libs will do)

Depression? This has yet to get as bad as the 1970's. sure there is a possiblity that it will get that bad and maybe worse... but it hasnt yet.
Incorrect.

This *recession* started in December of 2007, so we have been in it for five quarters - or fifteen months.

This is going to make the 70's look like a Sunday School picnic before it's over!

Re: Are You Prepared For a Rough Ride in 2009?

I am not worried since Mr. Steinway has big enough of a house for me and my wife to move in with him if things get too bad!

On a serious note once again the lone account I manage for my company has it's contract up and I am in my annual weeks long sweat wondering if I have a job or not.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

It already has.

Lets stop speaking about how bad it is going to get, as if there is some future crisis coming.

It is bad NOW. It is going to get WORSE before it gets better. Much worse.

We are on the verge of complete meltdown.

I will boldly declare that we have never seen anything like this, not even the Great Depression. This crisis has fundamentally changed America - FOREVER.

link me to the statistics.

a recession is 2 quarters of negative growth. the first 2 quarters of 2008 showed flat or slight postive growth. not technically a recession.

unless you can provide statistics to back that up?

It's good to hear from you! Where have you been?

I'll be praying for your job situation! After all, I would have the monumental task of informing Mrs. Steinway of our new-found closeness!

I might end up having to join you guys by sharing a tent somewhere!

Ed, it is going to have to get a lot worse before we reach those levels.

It is NOT as bad as the late 70's not even close.
