I'm not in the mood for cooking lately. Probably because of all the candle work. It's almost the same as cooking all day.

Throwing that brisket in the crockpot was great for me. I did have to peel the carrots and cut up the potatoes, though (lol). Sprinkled it with Beef Boullion, celery salt, minced garlic and Fajita Spice. Turned out great. Made the gravy this morning.
Yep, having the regular ham, mashed potatoes, green peas and these yummy rolls with crumb apple pie for dessert!

My son had to break down after church today and didn't get home until 2:00, so we opted for the Easter dinner instead.

Oh, I love Italian Cream Cake - that's best made and set aside for a couple days, then it really is moist!!!!

I'm sure the candle making is taking a toll on your cooking desire.

It was a beautiful cake and not one piece left!

Yes, it is taking a toll. Just want to get to the place where I pay back my start up cost. When you are new, people are leary. It takes some time, but I am patient.

I'm going to start doing the crockpot thing more. It worked out so well! That might help me out.

Smelly meat is usually inedible meat!!!! Don't eat it if the smell is turning your stomach...TRUST those God-given nasal-alarms!

I've decided not to buy meat there ever again. I go to the little store by my house most of the time and although they are a little higher, it's worth it most of the time.

And they also sell the italian beef seasoning I used to buy in southern Illinois....it's locally made there and I thought in moving here I'd never have it again.
Where did you live in Southern Illinois? Did I ask you this before??? Sorry if I have, the mind is a little overloaded.

HO,

Yikes!!! Bad timing for bad meat. Since it was just my wife and I today we stopped off at a restaurant we had not eaten at before on the way home.

It was one of those yuppie Applebees / Chilis type places called "Legends".

Being the cheapskate I am I was pleased to see that their lunch specials are not Monday thru Friday like most restaurants but is Sunday thru Friday!!

My wife is practically a vegetarian so she ordered a vegetable plate and I ordered a chicken entree off the lunch menu. We actually got out of there with just a $16.01 bill and that included a 25% tip!!!! I have never gotten out of a sitdown restaurant other than fast food ones for this little money in a long time.

Very good!!!

Jeff and I have started splitting dinners when we go out, because we always have leftovers otherwise, so even if we both have drinks and share a dessert, we're usually out for less than $25.

We had the big 'ole family potluck thing for lunch. Way toooooooooooo much food for anyone!!!

I told my mom yesterday that one of these years soon I think we should all just out to a restaurant for Easter dinner instead of doing all this cooking. She piped up and suggested that we just order pizza. All the kids would love it. I'm thinkin' that's a great idea!!
