Re: Sister Is Dying!
Ron, I'm so sorry to hear about your sister. I'll be in prayer for you and your family. I'm familiar with the disease and know the outcome for those afflicted. I'm so sorry.

Re: Sister Is Dying!
Your and your family are in my prayers.
As for sleep apnea, that development doesn't have to be the end all. I had that disease and I'm ok now. The same thing can happen for your sister.

She started showing symptoms in the early eighties & progressed to where she has been in a nursing home for the past 12 years.
Lately she has taken a turn for the worse & has developed sleep apnea.
My oldest sister who has Power of Attorney over her has requested DNR & no tube feeding as she doesn't want her suffering to be prolonged.
She was there the other day & stopped breathing for 15 seconds before beginning breathing again.
It looks like she is on her last legs.
I am supposed to be in charge of the funeral.
We want to make it to the Nursing Home before she goes but the snow is coming down in buckets.
For me, the sister I knew died a long time ago.
God Bless!

My brother-
My heart goes out to you, Brother Ron. And to your family. I have never been where you are. Losing siblings has got to be hard. Know that you are in my prayers and if there is anything at all I can do..... please feel free to call on me. Just as these good folks stood with me, including you, brother, so do I stand with you.

Re: Sister Is Dying!
Thanks for all your kind words of encouragement & prayers.
We got to see my sister on the way home from Church yesterday & she was having dinner & was having trouble swallowing.
I can't locate our old family album with the family pics.
Below is a pic I took from a picture on my sister's wall from when she started showing symptoms in the early eighties, & one I took last night around her bedside.
Quite the difference.

Re: Sister Is Dying!
Ron, thanks for posting these pictures. I know that God knows what your sister looks like. And that's really all that's important. But it does help us to be able to put a face to the one we are praying for as well.
I'm continuing to pray for all of you. I know this has to be terribly hard.
