Re: Are you sure you're saved?

I was once saved.

The problem is, no one knocked me in the head at that time which would have guaranteed my heavenly trip.

But, since no one knocked me in the head within five or ten minutes after I was saved, that means I am going to have to walk in the light until He comes. Walking in the light means that His blood will continue to do what it started doing when no one knocked me in the head...when I was first saved.

If I fail to walk in the light, darkness will overtake me and His blood will no longer cleanse me from sin and I will no longer have fellowship with him.

"...and the blood of Jesus His son, cleanseth us from all sin."

Anyone want to adopt the "knock 'em in the head after they get saved," doctrine?

Had a preacher friend that always carried a hammer with him(so he told everybody). He said the only way to get there was just as you said. Send them on their way before something happened to them. We always joked where is the hammer.

Re: Are you sure you're saved?

I don't mean to be rude, but one might as well be a Muslim with the kind of thinking that they aren't sure or don't know. Do you have faith? In Jesus? I am confidant in my Lord to keep me to the very end, saved and sanctified.

Act 23:1 And looking intently at the council, Paul said, "Brothers, I have lived my life before God in all good conscience up to this day."

2Th 3:3 But the Lord is faithful, who shall establish you, and keep you from evil.

Jud 1:24 Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy

Why even reach out to lost souls if we don't know they will be saved? Are we just hoping we will be saved or do we have a great Hope we ARE saved. Salvation is not a lottery

  3. Every sinner must repent of their sins.
  4. That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
  5. That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
  6. The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

I remain confident as long as I remain in Him.

"If our hearts condemn us not, we have confidence..."

I don't believe in the eternal security doctrine. I have no confidence in anyone's salvation nor that of my own if I do not keep his commandments and daily walk in the light.

I know of no scripture that gurantees me or anyone salvation without walking in the light and keeping His commandments.

Furthermore, Jesus said that "He that ENDURETH to the END, the same shall be (future tense) saved. The fear of God is an important element in being saved in the end, which notion is easily preempted by the doctrine of perverted grace.

enduring til the end has nothing to do with salvation but with the tribulation spoken of in matt 24. Paul clearly taught the saints they were saved because of the gospel.

Since I didn't say anything about Once saved always saved there isn't anything here for me to reply to

I don't know about you.

When I depart this life, I hope I am still asking God for his goodness and 'Mercy'.

The question is not whether He is able or not...that's a given.

The question is whether or not you and I will continue to walk and seek after Him, keeping His commandments and walking in His light as He leads. Are you and I able?
