I totally understand why they did it. It's scary to think of so many people losing their jobs anywhere.

I like it. I think its a very good idea.

It is biblical for us to pray for the well-being of our nation. I've read that 3 million workers would be directly affected if the Detroit automakers were to collapse; and of course, the ripple effect throughout the economy would be disastrous. I applaud this pastor for what he's doing.

And I also like to see an Apostolic church doing something that get's positive attention in the media. For too long, Apostolic churches have been "in the shadows", so to speak. It's time for us to come out of the shadows and let the nation and the world see that we're here and that we want to have a positive impact on our world, socially as well as spiritually.

Trying to respond, likely, to the crisis among their people. Sort of comical to me, and likely to get raised eyebrows from others on the evening news. Scratch comical and let's insert "hilarious".

That's interesting, TR. It seems sort of silly, at my first reading. Maybe I've let politics jade me on this one. I'm not for the auto bailout. But maybe this Pastor is, in his own way, responding to the prayers and hearts of his congregation.

A large part of his congregation may be auto workers. If so, I think it's a great way to get a point across. And prayer works.

I don't necessarily agree with them bringing the SUVs into the church, but I grew up in Michigan - and when the bulk of your congregation is employed in the automotive industry, you start thinking a bit differently.

I'm concerned for my home church, the Apostolic Church of Auburn Hills - they just built a new sanctuary, and the majority of their congregation is employed within the automotive industry in one fashion or another.
