When you received the Holy Ghost speaking with tongues (assuming that you did) or when you've spoken in tongues after that (assuming that you have)... do you considdeer that to be a real experience from God?...or do you consider it just "all feeling"?
And I find it puzzling that you find it puzzling.
And before I begin, let me make it very, very clear that I have no problem with spirituality being based off of a feeling...because, as you'll see by the time I'm done, I don't see how it's possible to separate feeling and spirituality *at all*.
If not a feeling, then what do you base your relationship with God on? Intellectualism only gets you so far. And even if you know every word the Bible says and can quote it and are properly trained to interpret it, it's all words and only words. Whether or not you consider the Bible to be infallible, there is always the possibility, from a purely intellectual standpoint, that it's NOT. It's a book, whether inspired by God or not, that's written by men and copied by men and translated by men and... So you can feel that it's infallible, and base decisions off of that, but that's a feeling. Or you can feel that it's not and base decisions off of that, but again, that's a feeling.
I would be interested in knowing if there's something other than feeling that anyone has actually based their beliefs off of. Like I said above, whether or not you believe the Bible is infallible, is based on a feeling.
As for being baptized in the Holy Spirit..how can you deny that's feeling based..? What else could it be? Whether it's a real experience with God or not is a separate question completely.

I really don't have any worries about offending God..lol Trust me on that one..if I'm not struck with any lightening bolt by now I won't be.
I don't know if I think it's a real experience with God or not. Real? Sure. With God? I dunno. I used to speak in tongues..I don't now. I don't really feel (lol) like I'm missing anything as far as relationship with God goes. Not that speaking in tongues would make any difference with at least.

Her sitcom ended production a couple of years ago. There are only syndicated reruns showing now.
She has been in the entertainment business a long tme with a lot of "Hollywood" type friends way before she ever did that sitcom.
Country Music has a reputation of being rural and Christian but many of the artists are wacko. For years I have read about Lortetta Lynn believing in reincarnation and other werid stuff that is not Christian.
