And let the reader keep in mind that most Socialist movements today consider Friedrich Engels and Karl Marx to be the godfathers of modern-day Socialism. (Marx and Engels were co-authors of "The Communist Manifesto". Enough said.)
Brother, do I not have the Spirit that leads to all truth? I am sure that if you gave a rational explanation I would be able to understand it.

You know there is a difference between communism and socialism right? Very different theories on both politics and economics.

If you know the difference between communism and socialism, then you should know why comparing Acts 4:34-35 to modern-day political Socialism is an invalid (and some would say preposterous) comparison.

I'll just leave it at that sir.

Re: Socialism now!

There are fine upstanding Christians who are devout socialists in Canada and Europe. Socialism is just a political philosophy. Guess what, if the people vote in socialists, it's the will of the people.

Notable Christian Socialists:

Frederick Denison Maurice (The Kingdom of Christ, 1838), Charles Kingsley (Water-Babies, 1863), Thomas Hughes (Tom Brown's Schooldays, 1857), Frederick James Furnivall (co-creator of the Oxford English Dictionary), Adin Ballou (Practical Christian Socialism, 1854), and Francis Bellamy (a Baptist minister and the author of the United States' Pledge of Allegiance). Also, Tony Blair is a member of the Christian Socialist Movement.

I dont know why you feel the need to be a cheerleader for Socialism on this forum but anyway... whatever.

Besides, your list of "Christian socialists" isnt all that impressive to me really. Are we supposed to be swayed because a group of so-called 'Christians' were Socialists? If I consider something to be bad, then its bad no matter who says they think it's good.

And how are you defining "Christian" anyway...? Christian just in the nominal sense, or in the Biblical sense? If they're not Christians according to the Bible then that makes the names on your list even less helpful to the case you're tring to make (about "fine upstanding Christians who are devout Socialists").

Goofy! No one benefits but those in power. WAKE UP!

President Bush as President has the power to sign a bill into law or veto it. Bush isn't vetoing this stuff...he's signing it into law without any hint of reservations. I doubt he even reads them. Maybe if they printed them with pictures like those found in first grade reading books Bush would at least read the legislation and would perhaps veto SOMETHING.
That is true but he has nothing to sign until the CONGRESS passes it and sends it to him. They are just as guilty no matter how much you want to not see that.

Furthermore, there is a difference between willing communism and that imposed by the government. The latter is unAmerican.

Re: Socialism now!

I mean the apostles in Jerusalem were trying to emulate the Essene community, which existed near the Dead Sea.

Obama's words, he didn't want to punish the ones making money, BUT he wanted those following them to have the same rights. So what he is saying is I WILL take your money and give it to someone else.

1399 I know you want to keep blaming Bush for all this, but you refuse to blame the Congress who is the one that passed this nonesense. In fact. Barabra what's her name from Ca wants more money to spend on this nonesense.

I refuse to blame Congress because the buck stops with the President.

If things were good now, we'd be talking about how Mr. Bush is such an awesome leader.

Well I don't think he is-- and he has surrounded himself with scoundrels that are willing to "bail out" or sell out the founding principles of this country in the name of the dollar!
