That Sheriff is being investigated because he essentially used his position as a Law Enforcement Officer in a political way-- as if to imply the police are voting for mccain/palin, you should too.
His use of Sen. Obama's middle name was not harmless, but it was only the icing on the cake for the line he crossed.
I hope he is prosecuted-- he knew better, especially as the Sheriff!

It's not his race or mixture thereof. He didn't choose his parents.
It's not his name. He did not name himself.
It's his political philosophy that should keep folks from voting for him. Those are the choices he has made, that is path he chooses to take. It's a broad road to a socialistic state, where government takes care of all ills, and government knows best. Take a look at how government institutions function and tell me you honestly believe they are better then the free market.

FORT MYERS: The phone lines lit up at the Lee County Sheriff's Office this morning after Sheriff Mike Scott's comments at the Sarah Palin rally Monday.
In urging voters to choose John McCain in the November election, Scott used Barack Obama's middle name - "Hussein."
Both the Obama and McCain campaign's immediately criticized the statement. McCain's camp said it distracted from their message, while Obama's office said Scott was trying to stoke the fires of a whisper campaign claiming Obama is a Muslim, which is not true.

Looks like there's not a problem at all with him introducing McCain. The complaints are that he said "On November 4, let's leave Barack Hussein Obama wondering what happened"
