Just my observation.

You mean they don't go to altar every service and cry and beg God for the HG?

Yeah, I was kinda thinking the same thing.

The AG's percentage of people reciving the HG baptism has dropped steadily over the past decades, now to a low of 20%... to the point that it's become a cause for alarm among the AG leadership. Clearly something has gone wrong, and they're just starting to acknowledge that its a real problem.

Any day of the week, I'll take our "tradition" of seeking the Holy Ghost, over their laid back approach to it. The proof, as they say, is in the pudding.

I guess not.
Maybe that's why lately, 80% of them havent been receiving it.

Baron this was officially from the AG I did have the article but now traveling it is in my storage. If my memory is correct it was like 60 some percent of ministers and membership is much higher.

If that is indeed the case, then its just sad.

I've been told that in the old time Assemblies of God, you could not be a minister if you hadnt received the baptism of the Holy Ghost.

My Mom's best friend was AOG, her husband was a licensed minister with them. They had the Holy Ghost with evidence of speaking in tongues. And they absolutely loved God and His people. Many discussions of the Godhead went on between them when I was growing up. But never any anger or bitterness from either side.

Good to hear. But thats not what I'm addressing here though.

We know that many AG preachers have the Holy Ghost.
What's been said here is that the AG is licensing and ordaining ministers and not requiring them to have been baptized in the Holy Ghost.

If that's the case, its a big change from how it used to be in the old days of the AG.

Like I've said on here twice before, my pastor's brother goes to her church. Pastor Andy tells me they are "mildly Pentecostal". He said that they DO believe in speaking in tongues, but that it is not in any way emphasized and it is not something that happens often (if ever) during a service.

I thought I had read somewhere that she was raised Catholic, then baptized AOG after she reached adulthood, then changed over to the Wasilla Bible Church. Was that information incorrect?
